AgriPowa is led by Mick van Hasselt, a senior agribusiness advisor with deep experience in large-scale farming and commercial agriculture across Africa and the UK.
A Dutch national, I have lived and worked on the African continent for much of my life. I hold two Master’s degrees from Wageningen University & Research in Environmental Resource Management and Geographic Information Science.
I have worked across commercial farming, estate management and advisory roles, with particular depth in tree crops and horticulture systems. My background combines strong technical and agronomic capability with operational leadership and disciplined performance management, alongside analytical work supporting investment decisions and business growth. I have spent extended periods based in Malawi and Kenya and have worked across multiple African value chains, often operating at the interface between field operations, management teams and investors.
My work is practical and delivery-led. I am typically brought in when a business needs to tighten operations, implement systems, solve an underlying problem and turn good intentions into consistent execution.
I work with a small number of clients at any one time, favouring long-term, trust-based relationships over volume.
